This has been a year of severe natural disasters across the world. Hurricanes, floods, tornados, mudslides, Michael Jackson’s nose, and blizzards. Sometimes it’s a nice balance to enjoy some of the quiet beauty that Mother Nature creates, too.
A couple of weeks ago I posted a photo of a cave created by centuries of ocean tides. Today’s photo illustrates the icy designs created by weeks of snow and sun. Some of these icicles weigh a lot – I wonder about the engineering that must go into a roof structure in order to support the extra weight of snow and ice.
I know why it’s called a Winter Wonderland.
