The Old Ironsides sign is getting a facelift. I wonder how many coats of paint are on this sign – I’m sure they’ve lost track by now. I’m surprised the sign hasn’t fallen from the extra weight of the paint.
This place has been around for over 70 years now. I used to drop in here at lunchtime and grab a cold draft beer and a plate of ravioli. Today they offer a larger lunch menu of burgers, sandwiches, salads… and ravioli. The clientele has gotten younger, too. Now, the Old Ironsides hosts DJ and open mike nights, and CD release parties with some of Northern California’s best upcoming music talent. I hear the jazz on Sundays is pretty good, too… need to drop in sometime and see how the paint on the inside looks.
